I'm on Twitter!

That's right - I'm now on Twitter! I kept hearing Mom and Dad talk about it, and thought I'd give it a try. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. (I know, I know, I never go to my Dogster page - but Twitter is limited to 140 characters, so it might just keep my attention.)

You can find me @actionjackson95 if you want to follow my Twitter updates. =)

Birthday!!!!

Today's your birthday! bah da da da da da da da!
It's my birthday, too, yeah!

Oh yes - that's right! Today is my 13th birthday! I am officially a teenager. Mom asked me if that means I'm going to start talking back and sneaking out at night. But who needs to sneak out? She gets up at 3am to let me out whenever I need to go. That's a pretty cool mom, eh?

Anyway, I heard Mom and Dad whispering the other day, and I think I'm getting a big beefy rawhide roll as a present! Keep your paws crossed! :)

*blush*

I found a notepad in my Mom's purse the other day. It had a cute dog on the cover, so I snuck a peak. EMBARRASSING! Turns out it was all about me. Mom made a list...

Jackson is:
  • a cutie-patootie =)
  • adorable
  • a good boy
  • handsome
  • smart
  • playful
  • a wigglebutt
  • sweet
  • a total pacifist
  • in love with everyone
  • curious
  • on old soul
  • protective
  • fun
  • treat-addicted
  • a true friend
  • extra-super furry
  • great with kids
  • great with cats
  • obsessed with squirrels
  • well-aware that Mom will give him the last bite of whatever she is eating, as long as it's safe
  • a lover, not a fighter
  • LOVED
Aw, shucks. *blush*

Confessions of a Drama King

Okay, so occasionally - just occasionally - I may have a penchant for drama. Like when it could get me some petting. Or a treat. Or some playtime. Mom and Dad say I'm a drama queen...but I think king is more appropriate. I am a boy - and a good boy - after all.

The only problem with all this drama stuff is that I'm just too darn happy! Mom and Dad start to talk to me, and then it happens: my butt wiggles! I can't control it; it just happens. And then, of course, they laugh and call me wigglebutt.

I wish, oh how I wish, I could stop that butt-wiggle, but I guess laughing with Mom and Dad is just as good as petting, and playtime. Not so sure on that treat thing. ;)

Whoo-hoo!!!!

Not sure what it is, but wow! For the last two days, I have been en-er-ge-tic! For a while there, I was sleepy most of the day except the evening, but man oh man, have I been on fire this week.

No changes in the diet or exercise routine. Maybe it's just something in the air. Come to think of it, the kitties have been wacky lately, too. Mom and Dad are a bit perplexed, but happy to see me running (albeit slowly) around the house, barking a lot, and once again following them from room to room and body blocking them at every turn.

Feels gooooooooooood! =)

Vacations and New Friends

I've been making a lot of new friends lately! Mom and Dad had company for Arts Fest last weekend. They didn't take me along to the exhibits because it was awfully hot. I preferred staying at home in the air conditioning.

But - their friends were really awesome and petted me. A lot! How cool is that?

The other day I made another new friend. He said he's going to take care of me (and my little sisters - the kitties) while Mom and Dad are in Oregon next week on vacation. (They say they miss me already, so maybe they'll stay home instead of heading west! That would make my butt wiggle right off!)

Anyway, Kyle seems cool, and I know we'll get along. I get along with everybody, after all, except that rambunctious puppy next door. She's got WAY too much energy!

So, next week will be New Friend Week, I think. That's cool with me. After all, new friends give me more treats than Mom and Dad do. *woof*

New Challenges

I've always loved going for rides, but I'm finding the challenge of getting in and out of the car a bit much lately. Mom and Dad bought me a ramp over a year ago, but it was too short for the hatchback, and too wide for the back-seat doors. So, Dad is looking for a longer one today - after yesterday's ride, when I refused to get out of the back seat until he and Mom put some cement blocks down on the ground so I could make it in two steps instead of one big jump.

I think most of the problem is my arthritis, but the new kitchen floor hasn't been helping. It's like an ice rink! Slippery as all get out, and I've fallen on it more than once. Mom and Dad have been bringing my treats into the living room to help me avoid the floor, thankfully! The carpeting is old and ugly, but I can stay upright! =)

Anyway, life is full of new challenges, but as usual, I'm taking them head-on with a smile! Now, where was I? Oh yeah - napping. Zzzzzzzz....
